Lebanon Valley College Athletics

Piela graduated The Valley with a degree in education.  As a member of the basketball team he served as captain his senior year.  His leadership is credited to helping the team play the most successful season at LVC for a record of 13-5 for the 1928-29 season.  On the football team he played as a lineman.  For the baseball team he played as a pitcher and outfielder.  It was recognized that basketball was his best sport but he lettered in baseball and football as well.  Piela was a member of the “L” Club all four years for his athletic achievements.
