Brian Yingling `03 – Men's Ice Hockey
One of just four LVC student-athletes to be featured in Sports Illustrated's Faces In the Crowd, Brian Yingling `03 remains the most heralded ice hockey player in program history. Just three years after the program's creation, Yingling helped lead the Dutchmen to their first-ever ECAC Northeast championship and NCAA tournament berth in 2001. As a junior and senior, he was instrumental in the team's pair of 20-win campaigns that culminated with regular season conference titles. He capped his impressive four-year career in 2003 when he led the nation in scoring with 36 goals; a mark that remains among the best of the past 20 years. As a senior, he was voted the ECAC Northeast Player of the Year and was named an ACHA JOFA Second-Team All-American; another first for the program. For his career, he scored over 100 goals and recorded over 200 points, shattering the school's offensive records in the process. Following his collegiate career, Yingling was heavily involved in inline hockey, including winning two world championships and a silver medal as a member of the United States national team.
