An All-American javelin thrower for the track & field program, Patrick Loughney ’99 still remains one of the top throwers in LVC history.

Loughney earned an all-America finish at the 1998 NCAA national championship meet, and his personal best 199-2 mark in the javelin remains sixth-best in LVC history. He was a two-time NCAA qualifier (1998 and 1999) and was also LVC’s hammer throw recordholder until 2004 at 119-9 (he is sixth today). He won a MAC title in javelin with two all-conference finishes.
