A versatile sprinter and soccer player in the mid-1990s, Nate Hillegas '97 still owns multiple LVC records. The most prolific point-scorer in men's track & field history, Hillegas won multiple MAC titles in the 200m and 400m dashes and the 4x400 relay, and is one of a select few athletes in conference history to win four straight titles in the 400m hurdles. He was twice named the MAC Athlete of the Year, and was a three-time NCAA Outdoor Championships qualifier. He remains the program recordholder in the 400m dash and 400m hurdles, and appears on the top-10 in the indoor 55m hurdles and 55m, 200m, and 400m dashes, as well as the outdoor 110m hurdles and multiple relays. In men's soccer, he was the 1993 team MVP and three-year letterwinner. A native of Jonestown, Hillegas is stationed at Fort Polk, La. serving as a major in the United States Army.
