Indoor Track and Field Wins Five Events at Moravian to Highlight Another Strong Day

BETHLEHEM, Pa. – The Lebanon Valley Indoor Track and Field teams won five events at the Moravian Indoor Meet on Saturday to highlight a strong day of action. The Dutchmen also had competitors competing at Susquehanna's River Hawk Invitational in Selinsgrove in addition to the meet at Lehigh's Rauch Fieldhouse.
 
Abigail Hunt won the women's mile, Rory Lieberman won the men's 3000 meters, Daniel Murtha won the men's 60-meter hurdles, Owen Linder won the 200 meters, and the men's 4x400 meters were victorious for the Dutchmen in Bethlehem.
 
On the Track
Colin Winters finished second in the men's 60 meters with a time of 7.02. Ava Matter was second in the women's race with a season-best time of 8.11 seconds. Her time is seventh on the program's top 10 list. Darrian Berkheimer qualified the MAC Championships with a time of 8.34 seconds. Linder won the 200 meters in a career-best time of 22.43 seconds. It is his fourth event win of the year, and his time is third on the program's top 10 list. Matter had another strong race and was third in the women's race with a season-best time of 26.97 seconds. Her 200 time moved her up to ninth in the event on the school's top 10 list. Berkheimer was fourth in 27.39 seconds. Hayden Milchanowski was fourth in the 400 meters with a season-best and MAC qualifying time of 53.44 seconds.
 
Caden Bell crossed the line fourth in the men's 800 meters with a MAC qualifying time of 2:03.37. Sierra Kapcsos was fifth for the women in a MAC qualifying 2:32.43. Hunt won the women's mile in a career best time of 5:17.65 that also qualified her for the AARTFC Championships. Her time also moved her into the top 10 of program history at seventh. The Dutchmen had two of the top three in the men's mile as Matthew Santana was second in a career-best 4:23.93 and Joe Chukoskie was third in a career-best 4:27.03. Dylan Lenhart ran 4:34.22 as all three qualified for the MAC Championships in the event. Santana's time moves him up to seventh on the top 10 list in program history while Chukoskie's time is 10th. Lieberman won the 3000 in a school record time of 8:28.99 while Sam Rothstein was fifth with a season-best time of 8:49.58. Lieberman took down the previous record of 8:37.39 run by Noah Griffin in 2023. Kyrianna Nemitz was fifth in the women's 3000 with a time of 10:56.12. Cole Lehman finished fifth in the 3000 meters at the River Hawk Invitational with a time of 9:27.86.
 
Murtha won the 60 hurdles with a career-best time of 8.49 seconds. His time is sixth on the program's top 10 list. Anna Sawicki ran a season-best time of 9.85 seconds that is fourth of the program's top 10 list. Mikayla Mitchell's career-best time of 9.95 seconds is sixth. The 4x400 relay team of Goundie, Murtha, Matthew Bruchak, and Linder were victorious in 3:29.07. The women's distance medley team of Nemitz, Kapcsos, Emily Miller, and Autumn Garges qualified for the AARTFC Championships with a time of 13:00.83 crossing the line second.
 
Field Events
Ayden Stankus finished fifth in the pole vault at a height of 4.25 meters (13'11.25"). He was also fourth in the long jump with a season-best mark of 6.41 meters (21'0.5") on his third jump. Emily Oriel qualified for the MAC Championships in the pole vault with a height of 2.88 meters (9'5.25"). Tola Oyinkolade finished fourth in the long jump with a mark of 10.29 meters (33'9.25") on her third jump. Her mark is eighth on the top 10 list.
 
Aonghas Evanick was third in the weight throw with a toss of 14.37 meters (47'1.75") on his sixth throw. Lauren Assante was fifth in the women's event throwing 13.79 meters (45'3") on her first and sixth attempts.
 
Up Next
The Dutchmen will head to Franklin & Marshall College next Saturday for the Coach I Invitational.
