YORK, Pa. – Lauren Bunke highlighted a great final day for the Lebanon Valley women's outdoor track and field team by winning the 1500 meters. The Dutchmen finished fourth as a team with 82 points after being fifth entering the day.
The final day on the track started with the 4x100 meter relay where the team of
Emily Oriel,
Darrian Berkheimer,
Alyssa Peiffer, and
Melena Koutch ran 51.26 seconds to finish seventh and score two points. Bunke then earned her MAC title with a career best time of 4:37.26 in the 1500 to score 10 points and the First Team All-MAC honors that go with it. Bunke was just two seconds off the MAC Championship and LVC record of 4:35.64 run by Cynthia Adams in 2014. Bunke is third on the program's top 10 list in the event.
Berkheimer had her first of two individual podium finishes in the 400 meters and she earned the bronze medal with a time of 58.48 seconds to score six points and earn Third Team honors. Her career best time moves her up to fifth from sixth in the program record book.
Autumn Garges finished seventh in the 800 meters with a time of 2:22.85 to score two points. Peiffer ran a career best 1:07.97 in the 400 hurdles to finish fifth and score four points for the Dutchmen. Her time moves her up to eighth from ninth in the program's top 10 list. Berkheimer then came back and finished fifth in the 200 meters with a time of 26.17 seconds to score four points.
Coyla Bartholomew ran 18:45.04 in the 5,000 meters to finish ninth while
Anna Donnelly had a time of 19:51.39. The Dutchmen squad of Peiffer,
Sierra Kapcsos, Bunke, and Berkheimer finished fourth in the 4x400 meter relay with a time of 4:06.48 to score five points. Their time is eighth in program history.
Rachel Snavely broke the pole vault school record with a height of 3.45 meters (11'3.75") to finish third, score six points, and earn All-MAC Third Team honors. She beat Oriel's previous record of 3.42 meters that the first-year vaulted earlier this season. Oriel finished fourth with a height of 3.40 meters (11'1.75") to score five points.
Sidney Wike had a height of 2.95 meters (9'8").
Caroline Reed led a group of five Dutchmen in the shot put with a mark of 11.45 meters (37'6.75") on her fourth toss to finish fourth and score five points.
Lauren Assante was fifth with a throw of 11.15 meters (36'7") on her sixth attempt to score four points.
Alyssa Betz finished sixth with a mark of 10.87 meters (35'8") on her sixth attempt to score three points.
Meghan Bussey had a toss of 9.73 meters (31'11.25") on her first throw and
Greta Plechner threw 9.59 meters (31'5.75") on her first attempt.
Kaitlyn Snyder had an AARTFC qualifying javelin throw of 36.60 meters (120'1"0 on her fifth toss to finish sixth and score three points.
Ashley Bartels finished with a mark of 32.43 meters (106'5") on her first attempt and
Kayla Kauffman had a toss of 30.00 meters (98'5") on her first throw.
Widener University won the team title with 148 points. Misericordia University was second with 139 points. Stevens Institute of Technology finished third with 123 points. The Dutchmen were fourth at 82 points and King's College rounded out the top five with 67 points.
