Track & Field Start Outdoor Season Strong at Mini Home Meet

ANNVILLE, Pa. – The Lebanon Valley outdoor track & field teams had 36 Middle Atlantic Conference Championship qualifying marks on Saturday as the Dutchmen began the outdoor season by hosting the Mini Home Meet at Arnold Field.
 
There was no team scoring at the meet, which also included student-athletes from Carroll Community College, Delaware Valley University, Lancaster Bible College, Montgomery College, Susquehanna University, and York College of Pennsylvania.
 
Track Events
Ava Matter finished second in the women's 100 meters with a MAC and AARTFC qualifying time of 12.45 seconds. Her career best wind-aided time is tied for second in program history. Gabby Welter finished third with a MAC qualifying time of 12.59 seconds. Abbie Reed finished fifth with a MAC qualifying time of 13.18 seconds, while Caitlyn Kovatch ran a MAC qualifying 13.24 seconds. Mikayla Mitchell also qualified for the conference championships with a time of 13.28 seconds. In the men's race, Leo Tirado, Colin Winters, and Caleb Auzenne all qualified for the conference and regional meets. Tirado finished second in 10.83 seconds, Winters was fourth in 10.88 seconds, and Auzenne was fifth in 10.93 seconds. Tirado's time is sixth in the program record books while Auzenne is tied for ninth. All three times were wind-aided.
 
Matter won the women's 200 meters in a MAC qualifying time of 25.73 seconds. Her career-best time is fourth in program history. Auzenne finished third in the men's race with a MAC qualifying time of 22.35 seconds. His time is 10th in the program record books. The Dutchmen won the women's 400 as Mileyska Calderon finished in a MAC qualifying 1:01.98. Welter was second with a MAC qualifying time of 1:02.22. Donovan Goundie won the men's 400 in a MAC qualifying 50.62 seconds. Hayden Milchanowski was fourth in a MAC qualifying 52.17 seconds.
 
Owen Kreider was second in the men's 1500 meters with a time of 4:23.84. Ben Graybeal finished third in 4:25.85. Dani Fetterolf won the women's 3000 meters in 11:32.19 while Nina Milosevic was second in 11:43.33. Donnie Miller was second in the men's race with a time of 9:20.47. His time is ninth on the program's top 10 list. Caden Bell finished third in 9:36.58 while Dylan Miller crossed fifth in 9:41.17.
 
Reed finished second in the women's 100 hurdles with a MAC qualifying time of 16.00 seconds. Mitchell was third in a MAC qualifying time of 16.07 seconds, while Sarah Nagy ran a qualifying time of 17.69 seconds. Joshua Leidich won the men's 110 hurdles in a MAC qualifying time of 15.85 seconds. Lewis Dieffenbach also qualified for MACs with a time of 16.66 seconds to finish third.
 
Field Events
Luisanna Polanco won the women's pole vault with a MAC qualifying height of 3.25 meters (10'8"). Her career-best height is fifth in the program record books. Emma Evans finished third at a MAC qualifying height of 2.95 meters (9'8").
 
The Dutchmen dominated the long jump pit as Tola Oyinkolade led a group of four women who qualified for MACs. The sophomore had the best jump in the field at 5.13 meters (16'10") on her first jump to win the event. Chloe Grady was second at 5.02 meters (16'5.75") on her sixth attempt. Hailey Myers finished third with a mark of 4.94 meters (16'2.5") on her sixth try, while Calderon was fifth at 4.89 meters (16'0.5") on her third jump. Alex Brown won the men's event with a MAC qualifying jump of 6.70 meters (21'11.75") on his sixth and final attempt. Brown's wind-aided career best is 10th in program history. Tirado was fourth with a MAC qualifying mark of 6.45 meters (21'2") on his first try. Grady won the women's triple jump with a MAC qualifying mark of 10.26 meters (33'8") on her sixth attempt. Myers was second with a MAC qualifying jump of 10.24 meters (33'7.25") on her sixth try. Evan Donough was fourth in the men's triple jump with a MAC qualifying mark of 12.19 meters (40'0") on his second jump.
 
Aonghas Evanick had a strong day throwing, as he qualified for the MAC Championships in the shot put, discus, and hammer. The graduate student won the discus with an AARTFC qualifying toss of 45.41 meters (149'0") on his second attempt. He finished third in the shot put with a throw of 13.24 meters (43'5.25") on his third attempt and third in the hammer with a toss of 46.42 meters (152'3") on his second throw. Jordan Klinger was also a MAC qualifier in the discus with a mark of 39.31 meters (129'0") on his first toss. Joie Connolly won the women's javelin with a MAC qualifying throw of 32.42 meters (106'4") on her fifth attempt. Michael De Falcis qualified for MACs and the AARTFC Championships in the men's javelin with a throw of 53.16 meters (174'5") on his first attempt to finish fifth.
 
Up Next
The Dutchmen will compete at two different meets next weekend. A group of student-athletes will head to Widener University on Friday, March 27, for Day One of the Danny Curran Invitational. LVC will host the Blue & White Open at Arnold Field on Saturday.
