NEW YORK, N.Y. – The Lebanon Valley women's indoor track and field team had eight top 10 finishes amongst a strong field on Friday evening at the NYU Invitational at The Armory in New York City.
 
TOP PERFORMANCES AND MAC QUALIFIERS
Tori Hunyara finished 10th in the 200 meters with a time of 27.08 seconds while Darrian Berkheimer was ninth in the 400 meters crossing the line in 1:00.77. Autumn Garges won her heat and finished 10th overall in the 800 meters with a great time of 2:25.07. Lauren Bunke had a strong mile time of 5:10.80 to finish sixth and qualify for the AARTFC Championships which will be held on the same track.
 
Melena Koutch finished fourth in the high jump with a height of 1.55 meters (5'1"). Emily Oriel and Sidney Wike were in the top five of the pole vault at fourth and fifth. Oriel vaulted a height of 3.04 meters (9'11.75") while Wike finished at 2.89 meters (9'5.75"). Ashley Bartels rounded out the strong night with a third-place finish in the weight throw with a toss of 14.18 meters (46'6.25") on her second attempt.
 
INTO THE RECORD BOOKS
Hunyara entered the record books in the 200 meters running the eighth-fastest time on the top 10 list. Garges is now seventh in the 800 meters after her great run tonight. Bunke had a career best time in the mile and is fifth on the program's top 10 list.
 
UP NEXT
Lebanon Valley will head to Reading next Saturday to compete in the PLEX Shootout hosted by Alvernia University.
