BETHLEHEM, Pa. –
Ashley Bartels had a huge career best throw to win the weight throw on Saturday at the Moravian Indoor Meet to highlight a strong performance by the Lebanon Valley indoor track and field team.
TOP PERFORMANCES AND MAC QUALIFIERS
Bartels hit her big throw of 14.92 meters (48'1.5") on her third attempt to top the field. She is second in the MAC and qualified for the AARTFC with the giant throw.
Alyssa Peiffer qualified for the MAC championships in the 200 meters and the 400 meters. She had a time of 28.40 seconds in the 200 and then ran a 1:04.03 in the 400.
Darrian Berkheimer also qualified for the MAC Championships and AARTFC in the 400 running a time of 1:00.88 to finish second. Her time is the fastest in the conference this year.
Autumn Garges was fifth in the 800 meters with a MAC qualifying time of 2:29.94.
Lauren Bunke qualified for the MAC Championships and AARTFC in the 3000 meters with a great time of 10:39.71 to finish fifth.
Emily Oriel finished fourth in the pole vault with a height of 3.34 meters (10'11.5").
INTO THE RECORD BOOKS
Bartels moves up to third from fourth in the weight throw with her career best. Bunke and
Coyla Bartholomew moved into the top 10 of the 3000 meters with their times. Bunke is sixth with her time of 10:39.71 while Bartholomew is ninth after running 10:44.27.
