How It HappenedCOLLEGEVILLE, Pa. – Lebanon Valley suffered a 9-5 setback to Ursinus on Wednesday afternoon, halting the Dutchmen's five-game win streak. LVC fell to 10-11, while the Bears improved to 14-6.
It was all Ursinus early as the Bears put up five runs in the bottom of the second. The Bears' Aikins kept the Dutchmen's bat quiet until the top of the fifth when Zach Edwards hit an RBI-groundout to score
Philip Berry and make it a 5-1 score. The Bears, however, scored two more in the fifth and another in the sixth to take a commanding 9-1 advantage.
In the top of the ninth, LVC didn't go away quietly as Berry doubled down the left field line on a 1-2 pitch to score
Jonathan Harned to make it a 9-2 game. Later,
Michael Puglisi doubled to left center to plate Edwards and Berry for a 9-4 contest. Then,
Brett Bowles reached on an error to score Puglisi, however LVC was unable to mount the huge comeback and fell 9-5.
At the Plate - Puglisi led the way with a 3-for-5 day at the plate to go along with two RBI.
- Berry finished with two hits (both doubles) and two runs scored.

Greg Orlando and Harned both added doubles for the Dutchmen.
On the Mound -
Jacob Williams (1-2) took the loss and went 4.2 innings while striking out three.
Paul Smith tossed 2.1 innings and gave up an unearned run and struck out a batter.
