ANNVILLE, Pa. – The Lebanon Valley baseball team had two student-athletes named Academic All-District® by College Sports Communicators (CSC) in a release by the professional organization this week.
The Academic All-District® Baseball Teams recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom. The CSC Academic All-America® program separately recognizes baseball honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III, and NAIA. In order to be eligible, student-athletes must be at least a sophomore academically and athletically, have at least a 3.50 cumulative GPA, and have competed in 90 percent of games or started in 66 percent of the games this spring, with a limit of five nominations per gender per school. For pitchers, a student-athlete must have made at least 17 appearances or pitched 35 innings. Academic All-District® honorees were considered for advancement to the CSC Academic All-America® ballot.
The two Dutchmen who were honored are
Owen Berry and
Landon Sexton.
Berry is a senior Business Administration and Marketing major from Cogan Station, Pennsylvania. The infielder and pitcher started all 39 games and earned Second Team All-MAC Freedom honors at shortstop. He batted .340 with 49 hits, 18 doubles, one triple, one home run, 21 runs batted in, 41 runs scored, and 21 stolen bases. This is his third consecutive year earning Academic All-District honors.

He went 3-2 on the mound with a 4.34 earned-run average, 38 strikeouts, and a .245 opposing batting average. This is his first career Academic All-District honor.
