READING, Pa. - Lebanon Valley couldn't duplicate Friday's comeback success, dropping both ends of a doubleheader at Alvernia by 3-0 and 4-2 scores.

Game OneMichael Houseal (3-2) allowed just five hits and retired the first eight batters he faced, but was outdueled by Mike Weinhold (5-0), who three-hit LVC with 10 strikeouts. Kevin Becker-Menditto picked up the save with a perfect seventh.
Zach Smith,
Tim Filer, and
Mike Puglisi had LVC's hits, and the Dutchmen had chances with nine men left on bases (five in scoring position), but they couldn't cash in.
Alvernia broke the scoreless game with a run in the fourth. Richie Ricciardi reached on an error and scored on another for an unearned run, and the Crusaders added two insurance runs in the sixth on RBIs by Matt Patterson and Jason Clapper.
Game TwoBoth teams recorded six hits in the nightcap, but Alvernia made the most of their chances with a three-run second to win it 4-2. Alvernia put runners on second and third to start the second, allowing Clemens to double in both runs before Iacobelli's RBI single two batters later made it 3-0.
LVC's third inning cut the lead to 3-2, with

Alvernia tacked on an insurance run in the bottom half thanks to Ricciardi's one-out triple, and he scored on a wild pitch during Matt Patterson's at-bat. LVC never mounted a rally, managing two hits over the final three innings.
Corey Sell (1-2) went 4.2 innings and allowed all four runs.
