#23 Misericordia 9, Lebanon Valley 0
FORT PIERCE, Fla. - A big seventh inning by #23 Misericordia propelled the Cougars in a 9-0 win over Lebanon Valley on Wednesday.
The Dutchmen (3-4) received a solid start from
Corey Cinicola, but unraveled with MU's six-run seventh as they combined three pitchers to limit LVC to six hits.
Mike Puglisi went 3-for-4 and
Mike Specht had a 2-for-4 afternoon to lead LVC. Cinicola departed after six and a third innings allowing four hits and four earned runs with five strikeouts;
Brent McDowell and
Mike Wakalowski split relief.
A first-inning error helped put Misericordia's first run across, and Lindsay drew a bases-loaded walk in the third followed by Comerford's sacrifice fly to give the Cougars a 3-0 cushion through three.
The big damage came in the seventh, however, as MU manufactured six runs, including three straight RBI doubles by Westrich, Cacchioli, and Hair, to break the game open and lead 9-0. Wakalowski came in to settle things down and threw well in his first career appearance, tossing an inning and a third of one-hit ball.
Lebanon Valley will take on Martin Luther for two on Thursday on their final day in Florida.
