Men’s Soccer Plays Moravian to Scoreless Tie in Feisty Affair

Box Score Men's Soccer
Lebanon Valley College 0, Moravian College 0 (2OT)

ANNVILLE, Pa. – Despite dominating the statistical categories, the Lebanon Valley men's soccer team could not find the back of the net and played Moravian to a scoreless tie on Saturday afternoon at Herbert Field.

In a feisty affair that included five yellow cards and 24 fouls combined, missed opportunities were the story in the first overtime game for the Dutchmen this season. The Valley had its chances with 17 shots and 17 corners, but were unable to beat Moravian goalkeeper Brian Boland, who made seven saves on the afternoon.

The LVC defense was stout all day as senior goalkeeper James Clements was only forced to make three saves and the Greyhounds were only able to get off six shots, just one over the two overtime periods. Clements picked up his third clean sheet of the season in six starts.

Offensively, junior Kevin Doty, freshman Josh Ferguson, classmate Gabe Stasyszyn, and senior Garth Stefan each tallied two shots apiece, while Stasyszyn put both of his on goal.

Next up for LVC is a trip to Selinsgrove to take on Susquehanna on Wednesday at 7 p.m.
