WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. – Nathan Kimball and
Gavin Rapp each scored a goal in the first half for the Lebanon Valley College men's soccer team, leading the program to a 2-1 victory over Lycoming College on Wednesday, Sept. 23, at UPMC Field at Keiper Stadium.
The Dutchmen (4-2-1) and the Warriors (4-3-0) battled defensively early in the contest, as neither program took a shot for over seven minutes at the start. Lycoming then tallied a shot 7:38 into the first half, and LVC answered with a save by goalkeeper

Will Burton sent a shot above the net at the 18:52 mark and Rapp had an attempt go off the crossbar at the 20:15 mark. Lebanon Valley then opened the scoring 24:04 into the game, taking a 1-0 lead when Kimball netted a goal.
The programs continued to go back and forth as the first half progressed, as neither squad logged another shot for nearly 13 minutes. The Dutchmen then found the net again at the 36:52 mark, going up 2-0. The program extended its lead on a goal by Rapp, courtesy of an assist by
Aidan Smith. LVC took this two-goal advantage into halftime.
The Warriors created some scoring chances when the second half got underway, recording six shots with three attempts on goal during the first 18:16. During this stretch, Yerger delivered saves for the Dutchmen at the 50:31, 62:59, and 63:08 marks. LVC followed this with a shot on target by Smith, which was saved at the 65:24 mark. Lycoming then got on the board at the 69:36 mark, narrowing its deficit to 2-1 on a goal by George Preston.
The Flying Dutchmen kept tallying shots as the second half went on, as Burton put a shot on goal that was saved at the 75:58 mark. The Warriors proceeded to record five more shots during the remainder of the game, including two shots on target. During this stretch, Lebanon Valley responded with saves by goalkeeper
Ryan Simonette at the 78:14 and 80:33 marks. Ultimately, the Dutchmen maintained their 2-1 lead through the end of play to secure the victory.
