Lebanon Valley 10, Susquehanna 3
ANNVILLE, Pa. - Another big game from
Dylan Tamecki and a strong start by
Corey Cinicola carried Lebanon Valley to 10-3 win over Susquehanna on Wednesday.
The Dutchmen (9-16) took advantage of seven Crusader errors to score five unearned runs, all in the first two innings. Ten days after he hit for the cycle at Wilkes, Tamecki came a triple short of doing it again, going 3-for-5 with four RBI.
Brett Fundell hit his first career home run as part of a 3-for-5 afternoon.
Cincicola (1-3) threw six scoreless innings to pick up the win, and
Jason Barthold and
Lee Webber finished the game out. SU combined five different pitchers after starter Pat Jennings was hooked after 1.2 innings.
Phill Dohner started the scoring in a four-error first by the visitors, reaching on a wild throw by the third baseman and eventually wheeling around to score when the throw to get him at third also sailed high. Tamecki doubled in
Tim Filer and later scored on another error;
Andrew DeCew came across on Fundell's single.
Four more Dutchmen runs scored in the second, starting with a 400-foot shot by Tamecki to left-center, his third of the year, and continuing when DeCew and
Mike Specht scored on an error following Fundell's single.
The Dutchmen tacked on insurance runs in the fifth on Tamecki's RBI single, and the sixth when Fundell blasted his first career homer to the driveway in front of the scoreboard.
LVC will start a weekend set Friday at Alvernia.
