Baseball Swept in Spring Break Doubleheader Against Misericordia

FORT PIERCE, Fla. – After winning big in its spring opener Saturday, Lebanon Valley lost both games of a doubleheader with Misericordia Sunday by scores of 6-1 and 5-1.
 
Dylan Tamecki knocked in the team's only run in game one on a double in the bottom of the first. Tim Filer came around to score from first after reaching on a walk.
 
Lucas Gienow made his debut on the mound, allowing two runs, five hits, and five walks through 4.1 innings. He struck out one before being relieved by Lee Webber in the fifth. Andrew DeCew and Brent McDowell also made appearances.
 
Down 3-0 in the top of the third in game two, the Dutchmen used two walks and a hit to piece together their only score of the game. DeCew, who made the start at second, walked and advanced on a single by Andrew Wooley. Both advanced on a walk by Derek Brousseau, and DeCew scored on a fielder's choice by Phill Dohner.
 
Misericordia scored two more runs in the bottom frame of the inning against starter Jason Barthold, who allowed five runs – four earned – on five hits and five walks with three strikeouts. Mike Specht pitched the final inning in relief.
