READING, Pa. – Lebanon Valley split a Saturday doubleheader at Albright, losing game one 4-3 and winning the second 8-6. The games rounded out a home-and-home weekend series with LVC winning two of three.
 
The Dutchmen (5-9, 2-2 CC) outhit the Lions (7-5, 1-2) with eight hits, and Phill Dohner and Jordan Higgins combined for five of them. Dohner went 2-for-3 with a run, while Higgins finished 3-for-4 with an RBI.
 
LVC took a 2-0 lead in the top of the first. Derek Brousseau led off with a walk and advanced to third on a single by Dohner. He scored on an error by the catcher when Dohner stole second. Higgins drove Dohner in on an RBI single.
 
Brousseau drove in LVC's only other run on a dropped fly ball that plated Glenn Dietrich.
 
Brousseau made the start on the mound, pitching six innings and allowing four runs on four hits and two walks. He struck out five, while falling to 0-3.
 
The Dutchmen scattered runs across the board in game two – led in large part by another big performance by Dohner and multiple hit efforts from Andrew DeCew and John Hildebrand. Dohner finished 3-for-5 with an RBI and two runs. DeCew hit 3-for-5 with a run and two RBIs, and Hildebrand hit 2-for-4 with two RBIs.
 
The big push came in the third, when the Dutchmen pieced together four runs on just three hits. DeCew drove in the first two runs on a bases loaded single. Hildebrand followed with an RBI single, and DeCew scored when Brandon Popp reached on an error.
 
Popp benefited from another error in the fifth when he scored on an error by the catcher. Dohner doubled in another run to give LVC a 6-1 lead.
 
Hildebrand and Corey Cinicola picked up RBIs in the sixth and seventh innings, respectively, to round out the team's offense.
 
Jimmie Miller started the game and pitched 6.1 innings. He allowed six runs on 10 hits and three walks but earned the win and improved to 2-0. Lee Webber picked up his first save in relief for getting the final two outs.
