FORT PIERCE, Fla. – Aaron Mills launched the Dutchmen to a 4-2 victory over La Roche with a two-run homer in the bottom of the eighth Wednesday.
 
Colt Zarilla put LVC up, 1-0, in the first inning when he hit a two-out single and scored on a double by Jake Rhody.
 
Freshman lefty Jason Barthold had a strong debut on the mound, allowing a single run on three hits on his way to a no decision. He departed with two outs and a runner on in the seventh inning with his team leading 2-1.
 
Lee Webber earned his first win in relief. He allowed an unearned run in the eighth before forcing three consecutive outs and ending his night with a strikeout.
 
Caleb Fick picked up his first save of the season for pitching a scoreless ninth.
 
The Dutchmen (3-3) play Misericordia Thursday and Penn State Behrend Friday before returning home.
