Game 2 – Lebanon Valley 2, Ursinus 1 (10 innings)

Box Score

FORT PIERCE, Fla. – In his first start of the season, lefty Derek Brousseau allowed just one run to Ursinus: an unearned score in the third. He allowed just four hits and struck out seven batters without surrendering a walk.

Zack Rex took over in the seventh and pitched into the ninth inning. He was pulled in favor of Brent McDowell with two outs and a runner on third. McDowell got Ursinus third baseman Joel Ackerman to fly out to center for the final out.

The Dutchmen responded with a run in the bottom of the frame. Jake Rhody singled and was replaced by pinch runner Jimmie Miller. Miller eventually came around to score on a single by Aaron Mills to tie the game at 1-1.

Colt Zarilla singled in the winning run in the bottom of the tenth. Andrew DeCew singled and advanced on a throwing error when Phillip Dohner laid a sac bunt down. The Bears intentionally walked Schwartz to load the bases, and Zarilla took advantage of the opportunity.

McDowell earned his first win of the season having pitched the final 1.1 innings. He faced just four batters.

LVC (2-3) plays La Roche Wednesday at noon.
