Baseball Loses to Ursinus, 8-1

Box Score Baseball
Lebanon Valley 1, Ursinus 8

ANNVILLE, Pa. - Lebanon Valley was overcome by a 15-hit Ursinus attack Wednesday that ended in an 8-1 loss.

LVC starter Corey Cinicola (0-3) took the loss for the Dutchmen. He pitched 6.1 innings, allowing four runs on eight hits and two walks. His search for a win continues in part due to a fine start by Ursinus hurler Jake Kohler (2-0), who allowed just one run on three hits for the win.

LVC's only run came in the fifth inning, when Derek Brousseau knocked a leadoff single, advanced to second on an error, advanced to third on a sac bunt, and scored on a sac fly by Tom Rasich. The run tied the game at 1-1.

Ursinus struck with a pair of runs in the six and another in the seventh. The biggest blows came in the top of the ninth, when the Bears nailed reliever Ian Younker for four runs on six hits.

The Dutchmen (8-7) put 10 total runners on base but stranded seven of them. The damage could have been worse: Ursinus (7-8) left 11 runners on base.

Ryan Schwartz, Aaron Mills, Brousseau, and Rasich accounted for the team's four hits.

Vince Rondolone batted 2-for-5 for the Bears. He finished with three RBIs and two runs scored.

LVC hosts Widener Friday at 3:30 p.m.
