CENTER VALLEY, Pa. - Lebanon Valley headed into the ninth inning down 11-4. They fought back for two more runs, but fell to DeSales, 11-6, Wednesday afternoon.
Jordan Higgins reached on an error in the second, and Andrew Wooley advanced him on a single. Both players scored on a two-out, two-run double by
Derek Brousseau. Brousseau came around to score the team's third run on a triple by Phillip Dohner.
Tom Rasich came on to pinch hit for Wooley in the seventh. He walked, advanced on a wild pitch, and scored on a double by
Ryan Schwartz.
DeSales (5-4) scored seven runs over the second, third, and fourth innings, and two more in both the sixth and eighth to gain the 11-4 lead.
Andrew Germann entered the game in the top of the ninth to pinch hit for Schwartz. He walked and advanced to third on a
Colt Zarilla double. Jake Rhody drove in Germann on a groundout, and
Jordan Witmer knocked in Zarilla on an RBI single.
Jimmie Miller made the start for the Dutchmen (5-5) but lasted just 3.2 innings. He allowed seven runs (six earned) on seven hits and two walks. He was tagged with the loss.
