Five Different Players Score in 5-0 Win at Hood

Box Score Women's Soccer
Lebanon Valley 5, Hood 0

FREDERICK, Md. – Lebanon Valley had five different players score goals in a 5-0 win at Hood Thursday for a conference win that keeps the Dutchmen in the hunt for a playoff spot.

Nicole Snyder, Heather Tran, Bre Schlemmer, and Sarah Wannlund each scored in the first half to give the team an early lead, and Brittany Flood solidified the win with a score in the second half.

Snyder scored her 12th goal of the season seven minutes into the match on an unassisted dribble to beat the keeper. Tran took a different approach – blasting a 20-yarder over the keeper to give LVC a 2-0 advantage less than three minutes later.

Schlemmer scored her first goal of the season to the far post off a cross from Wannlund in the 38th minute. Wannlund came back around to score her first goal on a ball deflected off a defender in the 41st minute to round out the first-half scoring.

Flood's goal sailed in from around midfield on a big bounce in the 58th minute. Like the two women before her, Flood scored her first goal of the season on the boot.

Becca Sykes played the entire game without having to make a save. The Dutchmen (8-6, 4-2 CC) outshot the Blazers (2-12, 0-6) 47-0.

Hood began the game with just 10 available players. They lost a woman to injury in the match, and in a sign of sportsmanship, the Dutchmen cut back and played with just nine players on the pitch for the final 18 minutes.

LVC plays at Elizabethtown Saturday at 2 p.m.
