Game Recap: Women's Soccer |

Miller’s Two Goals Fuel Women’s Soccer’s Victory at Eastern

ST. DAVIDS, Pa. – Abrielle Miller netted two goals for the Lebanon Valley College women's soccer team, fueling the program's 2-0 victory over Eastern University on Wednesday, Sept. 30, at Olson Field. This marked LVC's third consecutive win.

The Dutchmen (4-3-0) and the Eagles (4-4-1) battled defensively early in the game, as neither program took a shot for over nine minutes at the start. LVC generated an offensive opportunity at the 9:40 mark, as Miller put a shot on goal that was saved. Eastern countered with a shot on target at the 14:35 mark, but Lebanon Valley responded with a save by goalkeeper Camryn Porter. The programs proceeded to go back and forth for over 13 minutes, as neither squad took another shot until the Eagles had an attempt go to the right of the net at the 27:37 mark.

The Flying Dutchmen continued to send the ball toward the net as the first half progressed, as McKenna Valentine logged a shot that was saved at the 31:50 mark. Lebanon Valley then opened the scoring 36:08 into the contest, taking a 1-0 lead over Eastern. The program got on the board when Miller took a shot from just to the right of the penalty arc and sent the ball into the lower-left corner of the net for a goal. LVC carried this one-goal advantage into halftime.

The Eagles created a scoring chance at the beginning of the second half, and the Dutchmen answered with another save by Porter at the 47:22 mark. Lebanon Valley followed this with a shot on goal by Miller, which was saved at the 49:15 mark. LVC proceeded to outshoot the opposition 2-1 over the next 17 minutes, which included a shot on target by Ashlynn Newton that was saved.

The Dutchmen found the net again 66:56 into the game, extending their lead to 2-0. Miller took a shot from the back of the penalty box and sent the ball into the upper-left corner of the net for her second goal. Eastern countered with a pair of shots at the 69:31 and 74:07 marks, which went wide of the net. LVC kept working to generate offensive opportunities as the second half went on, as Kalei Noonan recorded a shot that was saved at the 75:49 mark. The Eagles proceeded to battle until the end, but Porter came through with another key stop for Lebanon Valley at the 83:56 mark. The Flying Dutchmen ultimately preserved their 2-0 advantage through the end of the contest, securing the victory.
