ANNVILLE, Pa. – Abrielle Miller delivered a hat trick for the Lebanon Valley College women's soccer team, leading the offense during the program's 5-0 victory over Lancaster Bible College on Wednesday, Sept. 16, at Herbert Field.
The Dutchmen (2-3-0) opened the scoring just 2:44 into the game, taking an early 1-0 lead over the Chargers (0-4-0). The program got on the board when Miller brought the ball down the field and took a shot from behind the right side of the penalty box, sending the ball into the upper-left corner of the net for a goal. Lancaster Bible later countered with a shot on goal at the 10:55 mark, but LVC answered with a save by goalkeeper
Camryn Porter. Lebanon Valley then found the net again at the 17:08 mark, taking a 2-0 advantage. The squad added a tally when
Megan Ressler took the ball down the field and attempted a shot from the penalty arc, which went into the lower-left side of the net for a goal.
The Chargers followed this with a pair of offensive opportunities, but Porter came through with key saves for the Flying Dutchmen at the 20:57 and 23:27 marks. LVC proceeded to outshoot the opposition 5-0 during the remainder of the first half, including four shots by Miller. During this stretch,
Meredith Mantione put a shot on target that was saved at the 34:36 mark while Miller had a try saved at the 36:56 mark. Lebanon Valley maintained its lead through the rest of the stanza and entered halftime up 2-0.
The Dutchmen created some scoring chances at the beginning of the second half, as
Ashlynn Newton took a shot that was saved at the 50:12 mark and Miller had an attempt saved at the 52:59 mark. Lancaster Bible followed this with a shot at the 57:47 mark, and Porter responded with a stop for LVC. Lebanon Valley later scored again 59:05 into the contest, taking a 3-0 lead.
Kennedy Dings delivered a cross from the right side of the penalty box to
Jayme Beninda on the left side of the goal box, who sent a header shot into the lower-left side of the net.
The Flying Dutchmen put another point on the board at the 62:51 mark, extending their lead to 4-0. Miller took a shot from behind the right side of the goal box and sent the ball into the lower-left corner of the net for a goal, courtesy of an assist by Newton. LVC remained aggressive offensively as the second half progressed, outshooting the Chargers 6-0 over the next 21:21. Lebanon Valley then added an insurance point at the 84:32 mark, going up 5-0. Miller took a shot from behind the left side of the goal box, sending her third goal of the day into the lower-right side of the net.
Sarah Gowell was credited with an assist on the program's fifth goal. The Dutchmen proceeded to preserve their lead through the end of the game and secure the win.

- Miller scored a game-high and career-high three goals, marking her first career hat trick and bringing her total to four goals this year. The senior's first goal was her second game-winner of the campaign. Miller also registered game-highs with nine shots and five shots on goal.
