DeSales 5, Lebanon Valley 1

ANNVILLE, Pa. – Scoring two runs each in the third and fourth innings propelled DeSales to a 5-1 win over Lebanon Valley baseball Wednesday afternoon.
Ryan Schwartz led the Dutchmen, going 2-for-4 at the plate and tallying the only RBI of the game.
DeSales struck first with two runs scoring in the third inning off a double to left center by Doc Neiman. The Dutchmen responded in the bottom of the inning, scoring a run.
John Hildebrand hit a one-out double to left center and was sent across home plate after a double down the left field line by Schwartz.
The Bulldogs tallied three runs in the fourth to take a 4-1 lead. With two outs, Brian Mauro singled and was sent home on a double to left field by Kyle Kromberg. A single to center scored Kromberg before a fielder's choice ended the inning.
Another run scored in the sixth inning after Kromberg reached on a fielder's choice and crossed home plate after Neiman drew a bases loaded walk. A foul fly out to
Derek Brousseau in left field, and strong throw to home plate, tagged out two Bulldogs to end the inning.
Strong relief pitching from the Bulldogs down the stretch left LVC runners in scoring position in the sixth and seventh innings.
Mike Specht drew the start and pitched five and one-thirds innings for LVC. He allowed five runs on seven hits and struck out three batters.
Corey Cinicola tossed two and two-thirds innings, while
Peter Moro finished the final inning.
The Dutchmen continue Commonwealth Conference play on Friday when they host Messiah for a single game beginning at 3:30 p.m.
