Two Alvernia errors in the second inning allowed three of four runs to score for Lebanon Valley. With one out, Deibert hit a double to right center and freshman Derek Brousseau walked. Sophomore Jordan Witmer then hit a ball to short that was thrown wide and ended up in right field when the Crusaders attempted to turn a double play. Both Deibert and Brousseau scored on the play.

The Crusaders came back in the third inning, scoring two runs. Brian Witkowski led off with a single to left field and stole second. A single down the left field line scored Witkowski and a throwing error moved hitter Chris Ray to third. Tim Ahlquist then hit a single to deep second to score the inning's second run.

Seven runs scored for Alvernia in the sixth, giving the Crusaders a six run lead. An infield fly error scored three of the runs, while a single from Ahlquist scored another. A three-run home run to right by Chuck Krichling sent LVC's starter Caleb Fick to the dugout. Junior Jake Becker took over on the mound, ending the inning with a flyout.

The Crusaders added a run in the seventh and ninth innings for the 12-4 win.
