ANNVILLE, Pa. - Lebanon Valley Baseball opened Commonwealth Conference play with a 4-0 win over Albright Friday afternoon. The win marked the first shutout by the Dutchmen of the season. Sophomore 
Ryan Schwartz led LVC, going 3-for-5 at the plate with two RBIs and two stolen bases. Junior 
Caleb Fick pitched all nine innings, allowing just four hits and one walk, while posting 11 strikeouts. 
The Dutchmen tallied 10 hits in the game and scored a run in four separate innings. 
Sophomore 
Aaron Mills drew a walk to start the game and stole second to advance. Senior 
Grant Wiest hit a single to right field to score Mills and take an early 1-0 lead. 
LVC continued in the second inning with sophomore 
Dustin Deibert hitting a single up the middle. He advanced to second on a passed ball and stole third base. A single by 
Jordan Witmer scored Deibert to add another run. 
In the fifth, Witmer opened with a single, advanced to second after a sacrifice bunt, and rounded the bases off a single to center by Schwartz. 
The Dutchmen scored their final run in the seventh with a single by Schwartz sending freshman 
Derek Brousseau home. 
Albright attempted a comeback in the seventh, but a strikeout ended the inning, stranding two on base.
 
Lebanon Valley and Albright continue play Saturday at McGill Field with a doubleheader beginning at noon. The game will be the third annual Cystic Fibrosis Day at the Park. Donations will be accepted at the gate to benefit the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, and a sports memorabilia silent auction will also be held, including a DeSean Jackson autographed NFL game ball and a Phil Mickelson autographed photo. The game's first pitch will be thrown out by CF child James Rousher.
