Box Score

ANNVILLE, Pa. -
With a 2-1 lead late in the game and one of his players lining up for a penalty kick, head coach Charlie Grimes wouldn't be faulted if he thought back to Wednesday's match with Immaculata. Against the Mighty Macs, LVC clanked a PK off the post and instead of extending a 2-1 lead, saw IU come back and tie the match in the final minute.

Fortune smiled upon the Dutchmen this time, as Joe Kopchick converted the PK for his second goal of the game to provide insurance as LVC went on to secure a 3-1 win over Moravian.

The Greyhounds opened the scoring in the 38th minute when Taylor Molinaro took a Mike Dobbins pass and beat Andrew Raudensky.

The lead was short-lived as LVC bounced right back thanks to Kopchick's first strike of the game. Approaching the keeper from the left, he lobbed a soft kick over Tim Dollarton's head to tie the game in the 40th minute.

Brendan Steele gave LVC the lead in the 61st minute. Justin Hutchinson directed a header his way and Steele pounded home his first goal of the season.

The Dutchmen outshot Moravian 22-7. Dollarton made seven saves in net for the Greyhounds, keeping things within reach for most of the match. Raudensky finished with one save for his fourth win of the season.

LVC is now 4-1-2 in 2009 . Moravian falls to 1-4-2.

The Dutchmen are back at Herbert Field Sept. 23 against Susquehanna at 4 p.m.
