Box Score

ELIZABETHTOWN, Pa. - Elizabethtown broke a 3-3 tie with a run off an error in the seventh inning as it won, 4-3, over Lebanon Valley in a Commonwealth Conference game on Friday.

The Dutchmen (18-16-1, 9-4 CC) can still win the CC regular-season title if they sweep their doubleheader with the Blue Jays (22-10, 11-2 CC) on Saturday at home.

E-town scored the go-ahead run on a double steal in the seventh, with Adam Sheibley coming home after Bert Malloy's throw to third went into left field.

Caleb Fick (1-1) started his first game of the year and was unlucky in the loss, allowing only one earned run and striking out four. Jake Becker threw an inning of relief.

Sam Heaps (6-1) threw a complete game and struck out seven for Elizabethtown.

E-town jumped out to a 3-0 lead after two, but Grant Wiest's two-out single in the third scored Brent Ruminski, and Joe Soupik hit a two-run home run in the sixth to tie the game.

However, the miscue cost LVC in the seventh, and the Dutchmen were shut down by Heaps the rest of the way as he was perfect over the final three innings.

NEXT UP: LVC will host E-town for two on Saturday.
