YORK, Pa. - #12 York College combined four pitchers to limit Lebanon Valley to six hits in a 4-0 shutout Tuesday at Jaquet Field.
The Dutchmen (12-12-1) were not without their chances as they left six runners in scoring position during the game. The nationally-ranked Spartans (17-5) were led by Ryan Poff, who knocked in two of their four runs.
Brian Miller (1-2) went seven innings, allowing two earned runs on nine hits;
Pete Moro was perfect in an inning of relief.
York threw four pitchers by arrangement and KC Beshore (4-0) picked up the win in three innings of work. Chris Frankenfield, Jake Hughes, and Jeff Benchich combined for three hits in six innings of relief.
Poff doubled in the first run of the game in the first inning, and York added two more in the fourth as Joe Doyle scored Matt Monti on a single and Jim Meehan hit a sacrifice fly. The Spartans scored an insurance run in the fifth on Poff's fielder's choice.
LVC will head to Widener on Friday to open up a Commonwealth Conference weekend series.
