WILKES-BARRE, Pa. - Lebanon Valley overcame a 3-2 deficit early on with 12 runs over the fifth, sixth, and seventh innings as it rolled past King's, 14-8, in non-conference play at Lipo Field Tuesday.
The Dutchmen (7-8) were led by
Joe Soupik's four RBI, and
Colt Zarilla and
Dustin Deibert each drove in three runs of their own.
Nick Faria (2-1) picked up the win, going 6.2 innings and allowing seven runs, but just two earned.
Pete Moro pitched 2.1 innings of effective relief, allowing a run on two hits.
Joe Jenkins (1-1) lasted four and a third to take the loss for King's; relievers Jeremy Bonser and Jon Venarchick combined to give up seven runs, all unearned.
Deibert keyed the LVC rally in the fifth with a bases-clearing three-run double, and two more runs crossed in the inning as LVC took the lead. Soupik drilled a two-run single in the sixth, and added a two-run triple in the seventh to go with RBI base-hits by
Ryan Schwartz and Zarilla to give LVC an insurmountable lead.
LVC will visit Dickinson on Thursday.
