ANNVILLE, Pa. - Lebanon Valley College played Wilkes University to a 1-1 tie Tuesday in women's soccer action at Herbert Field.

The Dutchmen (2-3-1) played in their fourth overtime game in six outings this season.
Lauren King struck early for LVC, sliding into a loose ball just outside the box and scoring at 4:29.

Wilkes (3-4-1) pressed for an equalizer and found it when Katy Fissel dribbled into the box and leveled in the 63rd minute.

Both sides were unlucky not to find a winner. LVC attempted to repel a sustained offensive build-up by the Colonels, and Fissel nearly added a second goal with a breakaway in the 80th minute, but the forward shot it right into the arms of Stacy Ganley.

In the final minute of regulation, Wilkes earned a corner, but with an open look at goal, Julissa Reed shot over the bar to end regulation.

Both teams rang the woodwork in overtime, first when Fissel floated a ball from the near sideline that hit off the crossbar, and LVC did likewise in the second OT when Erin McGarvey clanged the bar.

The best chance for a winner came in the 106th minute when the Colonels' Laura Gonzales hit the post after another Wilkes forward collided with Ganley in the box.

Wilkes outshot LVC 13-8, while LVC held a 3-2 advantage in corners. Ganley stopped five shots, while counterpart Jessica Berkey made a single save.

LVC heads to Susquehanna University on Saturday for a 1 p.m. start.
