ANNVILLE, Pa. – The Lebanon Valley College men's tennis team is set to start its fall schedule, as the program will begin its quest toward winning a Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) Freedom title during the 2025-26 season. The Dutchmen have 11 competitions slated for this fall, including five home events at the Shankroff Tennis Center.
Lebanon Valley is coming off a strong 2024-25 season in which it registered a 12-11 overall record with a 5-1 mark against conference opponents. The Flying Dutchmen also appeared in the postseason again, reaching the MAC Freedom Final after defeating Arcadia University in the semifinals.
"We have some solid players coming in and returning players who weren't able to play last year, so I feel like we have a stronger squad," Robbins said. "Our goal is to make it to the championship match. We have deliberately scheduled a lot of tough teams to challenge ourselves."
The Dutchmen return 11 players, including 10 players from last year's roster. Two 2025 All-MAC Freedom honorees, sophomore
Zach Schrader and senior
Jake Erb, top the list of returnees. Schrader led LVC with 12 doubles victories combined with 12 singles wins, including a 5-1 conference singles record during his debut season. Erb posted 10 doubles victories and nine singles wins. Against MAC Freedom opponents, he had a 4-1 singles record.
Graduate student
Adam Warren, a three-time All-Conference selection, is also returning after not competing for the program last spring. Another key contributor coming back for Lebanon Valley is junior
Jesse Beck, who did not compete for the team last season due to a year spent in Africa for his service in the Pennsylvania Army National Guard. Beck, a two-time All-Conference honoree, received the MAC Commonwealth Rookie of the Year award in 2023. The Dutchmen will look to juniors
Jared Hostetter,
Ethan Luu, and
Antonio Scaramuzzino, along with sophomore
Vincent Thompson, to make an impact this year as well.
Additionally, LVC welcomes six first-year players this fall, marking the program's largest incoming class of recruits. Robbins believes Lebanon Valley's veteran leadership will help these newcomers transition to collegiate tennis.
The Dutchmen will open the season on Saturday, Sept. 13, at 9 a.m., at the King's Invitational in Wilkes-Barre, Pa. The program will also compete in the invitational on Sunday, Sept. 14. Lebanon Valley's first home event of the year is the Dutchmen Invitational on Saturday, Sept. 20, at 10 a.m. at the Shankroff Tennis Center. The program will host Catholic University, Wilkes University, and York College of Pennsylvania at the invitational.
Another key date on the schedule is LVC's matchup against Penn State Harrisburg on Thursday, Sept. 25, at 4 p.m. at the Shankroff Tennis Center. The Flying Dutchmen will also compete in the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) Division III Regional Championships from Friday, Oct. 3, to Monday, Oct. 5, which will be hosted by the University of Mary Washington in Fredericksburg, Va.
Lebanon Valley will then host Allegheny College for Homecoming on Saturday, Oct. 11, at 11 a.m. at the Shankroff Tennis Center. The Dutchmen will close out their fall schedule at the Wilkes Doubles Invitational on Sunday, Oct. 19, in Edwardsville, Pa. The program will resume the 2025-26 campaign next spring.
