Dutchmen Baseball Ready to Take on Stevens in MAC Freedom Semifinals

ANNVILLE, Pa. – The Lebanon Valley Baseball team will play top-seeded Stevens Institute of Technology in a three-game Middle Atlantic Conference Freedom Semifinal series this weekend as the Dutchmen look to win a conference title for the third time in four years. Second-seeded Misericordia University will host third-seeded Arcadia University in the other semifinal series.
 
Game one between the Dutchmen and the Ducks will be on Friday at 3 p.m. with game two and three scheduled for Sunday starting at 1 p.m. in Hoboken, New Jersey. All games during the MAC Freedom Championship will be played at the site of the higher seed and will be nine inning games. The winners of this weekend's semifinals will play a Championship series next weekend.
 
Ticket prices for each game are set by the MAC office and are as follows:
Adults - $8
Seniors (65+) - $6
Youth (7-17) - $6
MAC Students s/ valid ID - FREE
6 and under w/ Adult – FREE
 
Stevens swept the season series over the Dutchmen back in early March on the first weekend of conference play. The Ducks won by scores of 9-0, 7-6, and 5-4. The Dutchmen won the season series with Misericordia as they took down the defending National Champions 2-1 winning 16-9 and 1-0 while falling 2-1 in the middle game of the series. Arcadia won the season series 2-1 over LVC last weekend with 13-5 and 12-2 victories and the Dutchmen winning the middle game 17-13.
 
Jace Fetterman has been one of the top players in the conference this year as he ranks in the top 10 in almost every offensive category. The senior is hitting .417 with 60 hits including 18 doubles, one triple, and seven home runs with 41 runs scored and 40 runs batted in. Logan Brewer adds more power to the lineup with seven home runs, and a .333 batting average with 50 hits including 14 doubles and three triples. The first baseman has scored 32 times and knocked in 49 runs. Carter Enders is having a great first season with a .364 average on 32 hits including five doubles with 23 runs scored and 13 RBIs. Kody Phillips is hitting .321 with 35 hits including nine doubles, one triple, and three home runs. Tyler Satterfield has come on strong with a .403 average in 25 games with 27 hits including eight doubles and one home run with 15 RBIs and 13 runs scored.
 
Spencer Butz has been great in center field and provides a spark near the top of the lineup with a .294 average on 32 hits including 10 doubles, one triple, and three home runs with 33 RBIs and 37 runs scored. Dylan Mennillo enters the weekend with a .269 average at second base with 29 hits including three doubles, 23 runs scored, and 13 RBIs. Owen Berry is a Gold Glove candidate at shortstop and is batting .360 with 38 hits including 11 doubles, 50 runs scored, and 24 RBIs. Kenny Palmieri is hitting .284 with 27 hits, four doubles, one triple, 17 RBIs, and 15 runs scored while Justin Ranker is batting .267 in 45 at-bats with two doubles, nine runs, and eight RBIs.\
 
The Dutchmen have a deep roster and have received significant contributions at the plate and in the field from Ryan Murphy, Duncan Weir, Kameron Wetzel, Devin Kreger, Joey Santora, Parker Tarnoci, Christian Vanelli, Adam Jirik, Tyler Marley, Ryan Schulman, and Cole Kingsbury. The offense is third in the conference with a .306 average. They lead the league with 94 doubles and 228 walks. They Dutchmen are third with 23 home runs and are second in runs scored with 335.
 
The pitching staff has pitched extremely well this season and is deep with 21 different pitchers seeing action on the mound. Jacob Detwiler leads the team in innings pitched with 40.2. He is 4-1 with a 5.09 earned run average and 2.59 opposing batting average with 42 strikeouts in nine appearances. Trey Dianna has 40.1 innings pitched in eight appearances with a 3-3 record and a 4.69 ERA and .284 opposing batting average with 32 strikeouts. The Dutchmen have also turned to Hunter Williams and Jaden Click who have each started six games. Williams is 3-2 with a 6.94 ERA in 36.1 innings, a .281 opposing batting average, and 35 strikeouts. Click is 2-3 in 27.2 innings with a 6.18 ERA and 16 strikeouts. Andrew Spaan has started five games and made 10 appearances with 26 strikeouts in 27.1 innings pitched.
 
Malachi Duka is 3-0 in 16 appearances with a 6.00 ERA and 37 strikeouts in 24.0 innings pitched. Michael Williams is 3-1 in 19 relief appearances spanning 21.2 innings with an impressive 4.57 ERA and 29 strikeouts. Tony Bennage has pitched 20.2 innings in 16 relief appearances with a 1-1 record and 18 strikeouts. Blair Shaffer has a 2-2 record in 12 appearances out of the pen with a 5.29 ERA and 11 strikeouts in 17.0 innings. Kyle McCracken has pitched 15.1 innings in 10 appearances with 10 strikeouts and a 8.80 ERA. Landon Sexton has a 5.84 ERA in 12.1 innings spanning 12 appearances with 14 strikeouts. Berry has come in and recorded three saves in five appearances. He has thrown 4.1 innings with a 0.00 ERA and four strikeouts.
 
The Dutchmen have also gotten valuable innings out of Hayden Fravel, Jordy Polanco, Sam Dozier, Chris Langsdorf, Jeremy Tuz, Parker Raham, and Grayson Weidenhammer.
