NEWTOWN, Pa. – Junior pitcher Jacob Detwiler was recognized for his performance in the Lebanon Valley College Baseball team's series-opening victory over King's College, as the Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) office announced in a release on Monday that he was selected as the MAC Freedom Pitcher of the Week.  

Detwiler struck out four in six strong innings to earn the win for the Dutchmen in a 12-1 game-one victory over King's on Sunday, April 13. The junior allowed just three hits and walked four while facing 26 batters. Detwiler had 11 ground ball outs in the game. 

This is the second time Detwiler has been chosen as the MAC Freedom Pitcher of the Week during his career, as the junior was also honored earlier this season on March 10. Lebanon Valley has now received three weekly conference awards this year, as Williams was also named the Pitcher of the Week on April 7. 

The Dutchmen will return to the diamond at 3:30 p.m. today, Monday, April 14, when the program will close out its series against the Monarchs at Lipo Field in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania.
