ANNVILLE, Pa. – The Lebanon Valley College men's basketball team is prepared for a successful 2025-26 campaign. The Dutchmen are scheduled to play 25 games this season, including 13 home contests at Sorrentino Gymnasium.
Lebanon Valley finished 2024-25 with a 12-13 overall record, including six wins against Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) Freedom opponents. Entering the upcoming year, the Flying Dutchmen have their sights set on returning to the postseason.
"The goal is always to try to make the playoffs and be one of the top four teams in the conference, so you have a chance for an NCAA Tournament bid," Head Coach
Brad McAlester said. "Throughout the season, the goal is to have constant improvement because we have a very young team with a lot of first-years and sophomores. I'm excited about this team; they're energetic and more athletic than we've been in the past."
Lebanon Valley's roster for the upcoming campaign includes 11 returning players and five first-year student-athletes. The group of returnees is led by senior guard
Kyle Tang and sophomore guard
Jason Penn.
Tang is coming off a productive junior campaign in which he led the MAC Freedom with 100 assists and 4.0 assists per game, while ranking third with an assist/turnover ratio of 1.5 and fifth with 38 steals. The point guard also led the Dutchmen in steals, while ranking third in total rebounds with 96, third in defensive rebounds with 80, third in free throws made with 42, and tied for fifth with 132 points.
Penn is another pivotal performer returning, following a debut season in which he ranked second in the conference with a free throw percentage of .891 and a three-point shooting percentage of .500, and was seventh with a field goal percentage of .492. Penn also led Lebanon Valley in three-point percentage, while ranking second with 40 three-pointers made, second with 22 steals, third with 267 points, third with 10.7 points per game, and third in field goal percentage.
The Flying Dutchmen will also rely on senior forward
Karson Pavlik, who appeared in 20 games while recording 16 points, 15 total rebounds, five assists, and one block. The program's other impactful returners include junior guards
Gannon Perlini and
