Cross Country
The men's cross country team is coming off running a school record five-runner average of 25:14 at the Lock Haven Invitational. Despite the great performance, the Dutchmen moved down two spots in the national rankings to 30th. The team is still third in the Mid-Atlantic Region. The women's squad also had a great meet as they ran the second-fastest five-runner average in program history at 22:52 despite missing one of their top runners. The Dutchmen moved up two spots to fourth in the Mid-Atlantic Region rankings. Both teams can make major moves in the rankings this week as the team will compete against many regional and nationally ranked teams at the Paul Short Run
Field Hockey (5-4)
The field hockey squad survived a tough week against two nationally ranked opponents with a 3-2 shootout win over TCNJ who 18th in this week's poll, and a 1-0 overtime defeat to Dickinson who moved up to 14th. The Dutchmen have just one game this week as they take on Juniata. LVC moved up to eighth in Division III with a 0.869 save percentage. They moved up three spots from last week. They are now 16th in goals against average at 0.79 after being 17th last week. The Dutchmen moved down five spots to 19th in shutouts per game with 0.44. Individually, Ella Weidenhammer is still ranked highly in goals against average and save percentage. She moved up a spot to ninth in save percentage at 0.869 and is 20th in goals against average at 0.81 after being 18th last week. Amelia Taube moved into the national rankings and is 27th with three defensive saves.
Football (3-1)
The Dutchmen earned a statement 21-18 victory at Delaware Valley last week to move to 3-0 in conference play heading into the bye week. The defense did not score a touchdown against the Aggies and are now second in the nation with three touchdowns this season. LVC is ranked ninth in passes intercepted with seven and 22nd at the opposite side of the ball in passes intercepted with one. They are 15th in turnovers lost at two and 25th in turnover margin at 1.50. The special teams unit did not get a chance to block a punt last week as they moved down five spots to 15th in blocked punts with one. The moved down seven spots to 24th in blocked kicks with two. LVC has been efficient when going for it on fourth down and are 36th in the nation at 69.2 percent. The red zone defense is ranked 37th at 63.6 percent.
Carter Foust picked off two passes to move all the way up the national rankings to second in interceptions with 1.00 per game. Cameron Hirshman is one of 24 players in the nation to return a punt for a touchdown. Dion Bryant is still ranked high in a couple rushing categories. He is down a spot to 23rd in total rushing yards at 435. He is also 34th in rushing yards per game at 108.8, down from 30th last week.
Men's Soccer (6-1-2)
LVC increased their unbeaten run to seven games with a pair of road wins last week. The Dutchmen are still receiving votes in the United Soccer Coaches national poll and moved up a spot to second in the Region IV rankings. The Dutchmen will play Elizabethtown tonight before beginning conference play on Saturday at Arcadia. Nathan Prex has scored in each of the past seven games including all four goals last week. The forward is now eighth in Division III with 2.44 points per game and 10th with 1.00 goals per game. He is up to ninth in game-winning goals with three after scoring two last week. The senior is still 11th in shots per game at 4.78 and is up 16 spots to fourth in shots on goal with 2.56. His nine goals are 12th while his 22 points are 11th. Both were ranked in the 30s last week. Prex is ranked fourth among active Division III student-athletes with 98 career points and is sixth in goals at 39 in 61 games.
Women's Soccer (7-1-1)
The Dutchmen went 1-0-1 last week with a big 6-0 victory over Neumann and a 1-1 tie at Widener. This week, the squad begins conference play at Arcadia on Saturday in a huge matchup against the Knights. Arcadia leads the nation in goals against average, save percentage, and shutout percentage. LVC continues to maintain one of the top defenses in the nation as they are 10th in shutout percentage at .778 after being seventh last week. The team has recorded seven clean sheets and moved into the rankings at 37th with 6.78 corner kicks per game. Jordan Lasky has the first hat trick since 2017 last week and is now 17th in the nation with three game-winning goals and 40th with seven goals. Abrielle Miller is 29th with five assists while Camryn Porter is still ranked in multiple defensive categories. The sophomore is still second in the nation with seven shutouts. She is also ranked 32nd with a 0.471 goals against average.
