Winters Breaks School Record at Coach I Invitational

LANCASTER, Pa. – Colin Winters broke the school record in the 60 metes to highlight a strong performance by the Lebanon Valley Indoor Track and Field teams at the Coach I Invitational on the campus of Franklin & Marshall College in Lancaster on Saturday.
 
Track Events
Colin Winters finished second in the 60 meters with a school record time of 6.93 seconds. He also broke the school record in preliminaries with of 6.94 seconds. He just beat the previous record of 6.95 seconds run by Owen Buhr in 2022. Owen Linder was fourth in prelims with a time of 7.05 seconds but did not run the final. Donovan Goundie ran a career-best time of 7.23 seconds which puts him in the program's top 10 list at 10th. Daniel Murtha finished fourth in 200 meters with a MAC qualifying time of 23.62 seconds. Mileyska Calderon qualified for the conference championships in the women's heats with a time of 27.50 seconds.
 
Linder won the 400 meters with a career-best time of 50.70 seconds which qualified him for the MAC Championships. His time is second on the program's top 10 list. Donovan Goundie ran a MAC qualifying time of 51.98 second to finish sixth and Matt Bruchak also qualified for the MAC Championships with a time of 53.32 seconds. Darrian Berkheimer and Emily Miller both qualified for the conference meet in the 400 with time of 1:03.54 and 1:05.94.
 
Sam Rothstein finished third and qualified for the MAC Championships in the 800 meters running 1:58.10 which is just off his career-best time. Abigail Hunt also finished third in the women's race with a MAC qualifying time of 2:27.31. Dylan Lenhart finished seventh in the mile with a career-best time of 4:30.02. Sierra Kapcsos and Kyrianna Nemitz qualified for the MAC Championships in the mile running times of 5:30.83 and 5:31.77.
 
Murtha won the 60-meter hurdles with a time of 8.51 seconds. He also ran that time in the preliminaries. Avrey Grim also qualified for the final with a career-best time of 9.23 seconds. He then finished seventh with a time of 9.36 seconds. Mikayla Mitchell finished fourth in the women's final running a career-best 9.64 seconds after qualifying with a time of 9.65 seconds. Her time moves her up to fourth from sixth in the program record books.
 
Both 4x400 relay teams finished third to close out the meet. The men's team of Hayden Milchanowski, Andrew Myers, Caden Bell, and Sam Rothstein finished with a time of 3:37.07. The women's team of Ava Matter, Mitchell, Anna Sawicki, and Charleigh Seifert crossed in 4:21.74.
 
Field Events
Sawicki finished second in the high jump as she equaled her season-best height of 1.57 meters (5'1.75"). Her height is tied for fifth on the program's top 10 list. Ayden Stankus was third in the pole vault with a height of 4.54 meters (14'10.75").
 
Stankus also finished fourth in the long jump with a mark of 6.19 meters (20'3.75") on his third jump. Tola Oyinkolade was eighth in the triple jump with a mark of 9.93 meters (32'7") on her third jump.
 
Aonghas Evanick was third in the men's weight throw with a career-best toss of 14.86 meters (48'9") on his second throw. His throw is sixth in the program's record books. Nick Guerieri was eighth at 13.54 meters (44'5.25") on his fifth attempt. Lauren Assante finished fourth in the weight throw with a toss of 14.31 meters (46'11.5") on her first attempt. Guerieri finished sixth in the shot put with a career-best toss of 13.24 meters (43'5.25") on his sixth and final throw. Alyssa Betz was eighth with a mark of 10.78 meters (35'4.5") on her second attempt.

Up Next
The Dutchmen will head to the Big Apple next Friday for the Scarlet Knight Open hosted by Rutgers University at the world-famous New Balance Track and Field Center at The Armory in New York City.
