ANNVILLE, Pa. – The Lebanon Valley baseball team will begin their conference tournament run on Saturday in the Middle Atlantic Conference Commonwealth Semifinals. The top-seeded Dutchmen will face fifth-seeded York College of Pennsylvania in a best of three-series.
LVC will host the Spartans in a rematch of the last two conference championships series in the semifinals after York rallied to beat fourth-seeded Messiah University 7-5 on Thursday. The Dutchmen won their season series with the Spartans 2-1 winning by scores of 15-1 and 2-1. They dropped the final game of the series 6-4 after the game was called due to weather in the fifth inning. Second-seeded Alvernia University will host third-seeded Widener University in the other semifinal series with the winners to meet for the Championship next weekend. LVC swept Alvernia last weekend while Widener was the only team to win the season series over the Dutchmen with two wins to LVC's one.

The Dutchmen won their second consecutive regular season championship with a 19-5 conference record and 24-15-1 overall mark. LVC was second in the conference with a .308 battering average and were third inn earned run average at 5.01. In conference games only the Dutchmen led the conference with a .321 batting average and 3.82 ERA.
Nico Santoro led the way with a .445 average and is one hit away from tying his school record in hits with 69 this year. He has 21 doubles, two home runs, 33 RBI, and 36 runs scored.
Shane Stossel has been a force at the plate and on the mound. He is hitting .360 with a team-leading nine home runs, 49 RBI, and 35 runs scored. On the mound he is 6-2 with a 3.83 ERA and 67 strikeouts in 51.2 innings spanning 11 appearances.
Andrew Miles is batting .321 with 10 doubles and two home runs. He has knocked in 25 runs and scored 33.
Logan Brewer has added some power numbers to the offense with seven home runs and a .318 average. The sophomore has knocked in 18 runs and scored 24 times.
Conor Smith is hitting .303 with 21 RBI and 26 runs scored. He leads the team with two triples while hitting six doubles and three home runs.
LVC has hit an outstanding 40 home runs this year with
Jace Fetterman hitting five and
Dave Mangold adding four. The Dutchmen have shown a lot of depth this year with 10 hitters batting over .300.
Tommy Moore Jr. has led the pitching rotation with an outstanding 6-0 record in seven starts. He has an ERA of 3.09 in 55.1 innings and 56 strikeouts. The senior has one complete game and a save. The Dutchmen have also used
Jacob Horton and
Andrew Spaan in the rotation. Horton is 1-1 in six starts with a 4.40 ERA and 25 strikeouts. Spaan has struck out 29 batters in 30.2 innings spanning eight starts.
Jacob Detwiler has been great out of the pen with three saves and a 3-1 record. The first-year has a 4.00 ERA in 18.0 innings pitched spanning 14 appearances with 26 strikeouts.
Jeremy Tuz leads the relievers with a 3.14 ERA in 14.1 innings spanning 12 appearances.
Ryan Pickle has a 3.65 ERA in 12.1 innings pitched spanning 10 appearances.
