NEW YORK, N.Y. – Melena Koutch finished fourth in the high jump and Ashley Bartels finished sixth in the weight throw to highlight a great final day for the Lebanon Valley women's indoor track and field team at the AARTFC Championships on Saturday.
 
Koutch finished with the second-best height of her career at 1.60 meters (5'3") to finish in a tie for fourth and score 4.5 points in the high jump. She cleared the height on her second attempt after clearing 1.50 meters and 1.55 meters on her first jump. Bartels threw a career-best 16.06 meters (528.25") on her third toss in the weight throw to finish sixth and score three points. Her new career-best betters her school record mark of 15.85 meters (52'0") she threw at Susquehanna a couple weeks ago. Lauren Assante had a career best mark of 14.49 meters (47'6.5") on her second attempt. She is fifth in the program record books with that throw.
 
Darrian Berkheimer had a time of career-best time of 26.25 seconds in the 200 meters. She finished second in the first of 10 heats. Her time moves her up from seventh to second in the program record book. Coyla Bartholomew finished 14th in the 3000 meters with a career-best time of 10:28.69. She passed three runners on the final lap with a strong 36-second final 200 meters. It was her fastest lap of the race. Her time is sixth in the program record book. The 4x200 meter relay team of Berkheimer, Alyssa Peiffer, Emily Oriel, and Tori Hunyara had a time of 1:47.56 to finish 11th. Their time was the fastest of the year and sixth in program history.
 
Lauren Bunke was in action on Saturday at the Tufts National Qualifier and ran a mile time of 5:12.36 to finish 10th.
 
The Dutchmen will now head outdoors for the spring season. The first outdoor meet will be at the end of the month.
