READING, Pa. – Lauren Bunke and
Melena Koutch finished second in the mile and the high jump to highlight another great day for the Lebanon Valley women's indoor track and field team at the Middle Atlantic Conference Championships on Saturday in Reading.
LVC finished fourth in the team standings with 77 points. Widener University won the team title with 139 points. Stevens Institute of Technology was second with 112 points and Misericordia University was third with 105 points. Messiah University rounded out the top five teams with 61 points.
Lauren Bunke got things rolling on the track in the mile with a career best time of 5:07.20 to finish second and earn All-MAC Second Team honors. Her career best time moves her just ahead of Kelsey Patrick into fourth in the record books.
Darrian Berkheimer then finished sixth in the 400 meters to score three points with a time of 1:01.16.
Alyssa Peiffer won her heat and was 11th overall with a season best time of 1:02.32.
Autumn Garges and Bunke finished on the podium in the 800 meters as the duo scored nine points with a fourth and fifth place finish. Garges finished just ahead of Bunke with a season best time of 2:24.63. Bunke ran 2:24.91 in her second race of the day. Garges is now sixth in the program record books after entering the day seventh.
Berkheimer scored her second podium finish of the day in the 200 meters with a career best time of 26.70 seconds to finish fourth and score five points. Her time is seventh in the program record books and qualifies her for the AARTFC Championships next weekend.
Tori Hunyara also ran a career best time of 27.00 to finish on the podium in eighth and score one point. She sits behind Berkheimer in the record books at eighth.
Coyla Bartholomew finished seventh in the 3000 meters with a career best time of 10:39.10 to score two points. She moved up from ninth to sixth in the program record book with her time and qualifies for the AARTFC Championships. The 4x800 relay team of
Sierra Kapcsos, Garges, Bartholomew, and Bunke earned a bronze medal with a time of 10:05.43 and scored six points. The 4x400 team of Peiffer,
Julia Wawrzynski, Berkheimer, and Hunyara ran 4:19.62 to finish fourth and score five points. The quartet won the first heat.
Melena Koutch was second in the high jump to earn All-MAC Second Team honors with a career best height of 1.62 meters (5'3.75"). She is third in the school record book with that height.
Emily Oriel finished fourth in the pole vault to score five points with a height of 3.30 meters (10'10").
Rachel Snavely also finished on the podium in a tie for seventh with a career best height of 3.10 meters (10'2"). That height ties her for eighth in the school record book with Sydney Wike. Wike had a height of 2.85 meters (9'4.25") to finish 12th.
The Dutchmen put four throwers in the top 10 of the shot put led by
Caroline Reed in fifth. Reed had a career best throw of 11.10 meters (36'5") on her first throw of the day to score four points. Reed moved up to eighth in the program record books from tied for ninth.
Alyssa Betz finished sixth with a toss of 10.66 meters (34'11.75") on her first attempt.
Lauren Assante reached the podium in eighth with a mark of 10.24 meters (33'7.25") on her sixth toss.
Meghan Bussey was 10th with her second career best throw of the weekend at 9.81 meters (32'2.25") on her second attempt.
Carolina Wegman scored a point with an eighth place finish in the indoor pentathlon with 1955 points recording four career bests. She began the day with a career best time of 12.14 seconds in the 60-meter hurdles to score 364 points. She then jumped 1.49 meters (4'10.50") in the high jump to score 610 points. Next up with a career best toss of 8.20 meters (26'11") in the shot put to score 412 points. She had a career best mark of 4.42 meters (14'6") in the long jump to score 408 points and then finished with a career best time of 3:26.15 in the 800 meters to score 161 points. Wegman is now ninth in the program record book with her career best total.

The Dutchmen will be back in action next weekend at the AARTFC Championships at The Armory in New York City.
