PREVIEW: LVC to Host Stevenson in Conference Quarterfinals

ANNVILLE, Pa. – No. 2 Lebanon Valley's Baseball team is back in the MAC Commonwealth Championship Tournament and will play host No. 7 Stevenson in a best-of-three series beginning this Saturday with a doubleheader at McGill Field. The if-necessary game will take place on Sunday at Stevenson if each team wins a game on Saturday.
 
How They Got Here
The Flying Dutchmen compiled a 17-9 overall record in the regular season and a 16-6 mark in conference action. LVC earned series wins over Albright, Messiah, and Stevenson, and split with Widener, Eastern and Hood.
 
History vs. Stevenson
LVC owns a 15-12 overall mark against the Mustangs dating back to 2000. The Dutchmen have taken five straight contests from Stevenson, including four this season.
 
Last Time vs. Stevenson
Lat weekend, Lebanon Valley swept a four-game series from Stevenson. In Owings Mills, Md. this past Saturday, LVC took game one 19-1 before defeating the Mustangs 9-3 in game two. Then, in a doubleheader at McGill Field, the Dutchmen downed Stevenson 6-2 before racking up a season-high 25 hits in a 17-9 win for the sweep.
 
Last Time We Made Conference Tournament
This is LVC Baseball's first trip to the Conference Tournament since 2017 when the Dutchmen fell to Alvernia (8-4) and Widener (8-6). The Dutchmen are seeking their first Conference Tournament win since May 4, 2007.
 
LVC Notables
As a team, the Dutchmen rank second in the MAC Commonwealth with a batting average of .321. and third with a team ERA of 4.27.
 
Individually, Mike Bulgia is third in the league with a .408 batting average and he and Chris DeClerico are tied for fifth with nine doubles. Conor Smith ranks second in the conference with five triples, while Bryan Towers if fourth with seven stolen bases.
 
Stevenson Notables
The Mustangs' Alex Kidwiler ranks second in the league with a .429 batting average and is tied for fifth with 36 knocks. Kevin Murray leads the conference with 16 stolen bases, while Kidwiler leads the league with a .534 on-base percentage.
