ANNVILLE, Pa. – Lebanon Valley baseball head coach
Keith Evans has announced his resignation from the position after 15 years as the program's skipper. He will remain at the College in his full-time role as Athletic Field Supervisor.
Evans racked up more than 200 wins during his tenure at LVC and led the Flying Dutchmen to six postseason appearances under his watch. He was also named the MAC Commonwealth Coach of the Year by his peers in 2007 after leading Lebanon Valley to the best record in the conference.
Under his tutelage, LVC players earned a number of outstanding individual accolades. In 2017,
Zac Edwards became the first player in program history to earn CoSIDA Academic All-America honors after picking up CoSIDA Academic All-District recognition. Jordan Higgins picked up all-region recognition in 2014 and Dylan Tamecki earned the program's first-ever D3baseball.com Regional and MAC Commonwealth Rookie of the Year awards, respectively, in 2013.
In addition to his success as head coach, Evans has proved one of the best in his full-time field. Thanks to his efforts with the College's athletic fields, the SportsTurf Managers Association named McGill Field Baseball Park as its 2000 College Baseball Field of the Year and Herbert Field as its 2001 STMA College Soccer Field of the Year, while LVC Softball Park was named the National Fastpitch Coaches' Association Regional Field of the Year in 2000 and 2001, respectively.
A national search for LVC's next head baseball coach is currently underway.
