GLENSIDE, Pa. – Lebanon Valley won its fourth consecutive match of the spring on Wednesday afternoon; a hard-fought 5-4 edging of MAC Commonwealth Arcadia.
The depth of the Flying Dutchmen (6-4, 2-0 MAC Commonwealth) proved especially valuable on Wednesday as the one-point decision was decided in the matchups down the card.
Nick Jones and
Blake Martin swept Arcadia's Jake McBride and Jaime Zeng Zhu 8-0 in the second doubles outing, while
Jonathan Hastings and
Jordan Heavel's 8-1 win over Drake Hanak and Alex Post in the No. 3 pairing.
Leading by one point heading into singles play, LVC got key victories from Hastings, Martin, and Heavel to clinch the team's second conference win of the season. Hastings defeated John Zinzer 6-2, 6-4 in the third solo matchup, Martin handled Hanak 6-1, 6-1 in the No. 5 pairing, and Heavel swept Post 6-0, 6-0 in the sixth contest.
The Dutchmen will look to keep rolling when they travel to Hood for another conference matchup on Saturday afternoon.
