ANNVILLE, Pa. – The Lebanon Valley College men's tennis team began its 2026-27 season on Saturday afternoon with a hard-fought 7-0 defeat to Dickison College at the Shankroff Tennis Center.
The Red Devils won all nine matches in a closely contested affair, taking the three doubles and all six singles matches. Two of the three singles matches needed three sets to be decided.
Inside the Box
- Mason Dissinger and Zachary Elmore battled through a close match and needed a tiebreaker at number two doubles before falling 7-6 (8-6).
- Jesse Beck and Zach Schrader dropped a 7-5 decision at number one doubles while Jared Hostetter and Etha Luu also fell 7-5 at number three doubles.
- Schrader was involved in the only singles match that needed a first-set tiebreaker at number one. He dropped a close 7-6 (7-3 decision.
- Beck needed three sets at number two singles before falling 6-4, 4-6, 6-2.
- Luu was the only Dutchman to win his first set but dropped a tough three-setter at number four by a score of 3-6, 6-3, 6-2.

LVC will look to rebound next Saturday, September 19, as they will host a pair of matches at the Shankroff Tennis Center. The Dutchmen will take on Southern Virginia University at 10 a.m. before hosting Susquehanna University at 3 p.m.
