READING, Pa. – Lebanon Valley's men's tennis team picked up its 10th victory of the season when the Flying Dutchmen traveled to Albright and defeated their MAC Commonwealth rivals 6-3 on Tuesday afternoon.
Doubles play went the way of LVC as
Jonathan Hastings and
Jordan Heavel defeated the Lions second doubles team of Evan Cuff and Dylan Rutt 8-3, while
Elliott Kleckner and
Reed Morris came away with an 8-2 victory over Coleman Mitchell and David Sylvester in the No. 3 doubles contest, giving the visitors the edge heading into singles action.
Hastings, the reigning MAC Commonwealth Player of the Week, led the way in solo play by holding on to defeat Ken Richardson 6-4, 1-6, 10-8 in the second matchup, while
Blake Martin swept Rutt 6-0, 6-0 in the four spot.
Elliott Kleckner gave the Dutchmen the deciding victory with a 6-0, 6-0 sweep of Sylvester in the sixth outing and Heavel went 6-0, 6-1 over Mitchell in the No. 5 contest for good measure.
The Dutchmen have won their last eight matches and will face a tough test when they travel to Messiah for their penultimate contest of the spring on Saturday afternoon.
