ANNVILLE, Pa. – Lebanon Valley's men's tennis team stayed perfect in conference play when the team defeated MAC Commonwealth rival Lycoming 6-3 at the Shankroff Tennis Center on Thursday afternoon. The victory was the team's seventh in a row.
The Flying Dutchmen (9-4, 4-0 MAC Commonwealth) led after doubles play thanks to a 8-4 victory by
Nick Jones and
Blake Martin over Rob Smith and Zachary High in the second contest, as well as an 8-2 win by
Jonathan Hastings and
Jordan Heavel and over Evan Bennetch and Josh Cram in the No. 3 outing.
Hastings was LVC's top solo player to earn a victory in singles action with a 6-1, 6-2 over Wheary in the third matchup.
Reed Morris went 6-4, 6-4 over Bennetch in the four spot, Martin swept High 6-0, 6-0 in the No. 5 contest, and Heavel made quick work of Cram thanks to a 6-1, 6-0 decision in the sixth outing.
The Dutchmen will try to keep their win-streak going when they travel to Albright for another MAC Commonwealth outing on Tuesday afternoon.
