ANNVILLE, Pa. – Lebanon Valley's men's tennis team picked up its first victory of the young season on Sunday afternoon, Oct. 1, by defeating previously unbeaten Susquehanna 7-2 at the Shankroff Tennis Center.
The Flying Dutchmen (1-1) came away with two wins in doubles play to jump out to an early advantage. The team's No. 2 duo of
Elliott Kleckner and
Ben Hinkley bested SU's Ryan Seibert and Taylor Swim 8-5, while
Jordan Heavel and
Luke Senft swept Ian Reish and Jacob Mowery 8-0 in the number three matchup.
LVC dropped just one solo outing to the Crusaders (4-1), with the team's No. 2 through No. 6 players came away with victories.
Blake Martin handled Alexander Cocolas 7-6, 6-0 in the second contest, while Heavel won a 7-5, 4-6, 11-9 marathon over Seibert in the No. 3 outing. Senft took care of Garrett Deyle 6-4, 6-0, Kleckner swept Reish 6-0, 6-0, and
Samuel Miller took a 6-4, 4-6, 10-4 three-setter from Mowery in the sixth slot.
LVC wraps up the dual-match portion of its fall schedule when the team travels to Eastern on Thursday, Oct. 12.
