ANVILLE, Pa. – Lebanon Valley won its third match in a row, defeating King's (Pa.) 5-4 in the team's final non-conference match of the season on Sunday afternoon.
The Flying Dutchmen (5-10-1) earned their first win of the day when
Elliott Kleckner and
Jordan Heavel topped Matt James and Terry Briggs, the Monarchs' number three duo, by an 8-3 margin. LVC took a 2-1 advantage into singles action thanks to
Cody Manmiller and
Jonathan Hastings' 8-5 second doubles victory over John Labiak and Ryan Hegarty.
Manmiller stayed perfect on the afternoon when he took care of James 6-1, 6-2 in the number three solo matchup. Heavel earned his second win of the day as well, besting Hegarty 6-1, 6-4 in the fifth singles pairing. It came down to a three-setter that
Yale Maier pulled out with a 6-2, 5-7, 6-1 decision over Ryan Kopishke in the sixth and final singles contest.
It's back to MAC Commonwealth play for the Dutchmen in their next outing. LVC travels to Stevenson on Tuesday afternoon.
